A tour of our new digs...

Okay, so here are some pictures of the house. Please remember that we have lots of things we want to do!!

The kitchen...
Just on the other side of the Fridge is the door to the laundry room that goes to the garage. In the kitchen there is also a doorway leading to the dining room. The kitchen, eating area and the living room are all open to one another.
The living room. Josh started to paint the walls and then we (read as I) had second thoughts about the color. It was just too dark. I am thinking we are going to paint it just one shade lighter.

This is the eat-in kitchen. I need to find two more chairs for the table!
This is a view of the sunroom or Florida room. The room has windows all the way around. I have the shades drawn to keep the temperature down a bit.

Here I am standing in the foyer looking up the stairs. The stairs are open from the front and the back of the house. The light that can be seen is the light over the eat-in kitchen area.

Here I am standing on the landing of the steps looking down into the living room. Caroline is blogging (just kidding!)

Here I am standing at the front door looking to the left. It is the kid's playroom. It is a disaster 99.9 % of the time.

It was hard to get pictures of the rooms. I just stood in the doorway and shot a picture into the room. This is Will's room.

This is Caroline's room. Her walls are painted a light blue color and she loves it!

This area is at the top of the stairs. I think that I am going to put some bookcases in there and make it a "library" area. It leads into the Master bedroom.

Here is a picture of part of the master bath. There is a seperate shower and toilet around the corner.
So that is what I got for now. Once I get things done I will post the "afters".

Fredbird

Disclaimer: These pictures were taken last month. I am just now getting to them. Sorry...

Josh's bosses Jerry and Angie have a son, Matthew. He is a HUGE St. Louis Cardinals fan. Every year for his birthday Matthew comes to the office and hands out ice cream treats from his uncle's ice cream truck. This year his parents (and aunt and uncle) had a surprise for him! They had invited Fredbird to come out to the party! Jerry and Angie invited all of the employees and their families, so we got to partake in the fun too. Josh was out of town so I took the kids by myself. We were totally bummed that he had to miss it.

Matthew was so shocked when he saw Fredbird. It was so cute. He kept saying "what is going on here?"

Will could have cared less, he was less than impressed. Fredbird tried to shake his hand and he was not having any of that. Will didn't mind having his picture taken with him as long as I was there.

Fredbird trying to eat my head, Will trying to eat his hand...

Caroline on the other hand, was ALL ABOUT IT! She thought that Fredbird was the funniest thing ever! When Fredbird came over to her he immediately put his shirt over her head.

She thought it was histarical...

Fredbird gave her a kiss...

And a thumbs up picture for Dad!

Happy Birthday Matthew! And thank you Jerry and Angie for including us in the fun!

Momma's Vacation

We went to Cocoa Beach, Florida and it was wonderful. I met up with Kelly W, Kelly F, Jessica and Christine.

We walked the beach...

We got sand in our toes...

We took lots of pictures. Me taking a picture of Christine taking a picture!

Our favorite drink, A Pain in the A**!

Kelly F throwing back the rum shot that was in the drink.

Dude, it was bad!

Kelly W gave us all a gift when we arrived. She is soo Martha! Aren't they cute??

The gift, a key chain with Welcome to Holland engraved on it with a pearl and our child's birth stone. We cried. It was such a thoughtful and sweet gift. Thank you again Kelly, I love it so much.

We went to Fishlips on Friday night. It was fun!

It was Kelly F's birthday. She had a candle in each meal that day. We were all surprised when the ENTIRE bar sang "Happy Birthday" to her!

The beach....

I had such a great time. It was relaxing and refreshing. We laughed, we cried, we ate, we drank. The four days went by too fast but we are looking forward to future trips.

We are moved!

Where have I been? Unpacking! And painting! We moved into our new house last Friday and we have been working ever since. We love the house but there are lots of little changes that we want to make. I haven't found my camera, so when I do I will post some pictures.

I have a meeting today with a lady from the school district to discuss Will's transition from the early intervention program to the school system. She is just going to fill me in on how it all works and what to expect.

Caroline had her yearly checkup with the doctor and she got her vaccinations for school. It wasn't pretty, but she made it through. Josh came with me to enjoy the experience and I am so glad that he did. I am not sure that I would have been able to do it alone.

I am hoping to get back into the swing of things soon.

Church Picnic

The church that we have been going to since moving into the hotel was holding their annual picnic this weekend. Josh and I took the kids before church on Saturday and Caroline got to ride some rides.

Getting ready to ride the "kiddie" swings.

On the little Ferris wheel.

Feeling the wind in her face on the spaceships.

William is thinking about calling Gene Simmons to see if there is an opening in the band!

She played the duck game and took picking a duck very seriously.

Her prize, some sort of fish.

There were horse rides. She said that she wants to take horse riding lessons.

With dad on the scrambler. You have to click on the picture to get a closer look at her face, priceless!!

Will watching Dad and Sis on the scrambler.

Caroline decided that she wanted to ride the "big" swings. I was very nervous about letting her do it, but she was pumped and said she wasn't scared.

Josh took the stroller and my camera back to the van before church started. During that time Caroline begged me to let her go on the giant slide. I wasn't so sure about it but she really wanted to do it. So I decided to let her. She climbed all of the steps, sat on her burlap sack and pushed off. Because she doesn't weigh a whole lot she got going really fast and by the second bump she got a little airborne and her eyes got the size of saucers! I so wish that I would have had my camera and that Josh could have seen it because it was so funny. When she came over to me afterwards I asked her if she had fun and she said that it was really fun. I asked her if she wanted to do it again and she said no!

Update

Hello my peeps! Wanted to update you on the happenings that is our lives!!

  • We are closing early on the house!! Woot Woot!! We will be closing on the 12th, which is one week earlier than we thought we would. I am so excited to get out of this place and I can't wait to show you guys our new digs!!

  • I have been suffering from some seasonal allergies and let me tell you, it is not fun. I have had a really bad headache all week and I am finally feeling a bit like myself today.

  • William has been battling a cough for about two weeks. I think that I can say he is over it. I think that he was having the same issues as I was with the allergies.

  • Caroline will be starting school on July 16th!!! Yikes!! The school district that we are moving into does year-round school. It is going to be an adjustment from what we are use to but I think that it is going to be good for her. They go for 9 weeks then have a 3 week break. She is excited about starting school but nervous all at the same time.

  • We went and bought her a backpack and lunch box for school this week; Hello Kitty, of course!

  • Anytime we mention school she starts freaking out about having to get shots! It should be interesting! I told Josh that he is going to need to take that day off from work because I am going to need his help at the doctor's office.

  • While taking Buster out to do his business the other day we had a scary experience. I was taking him out the door of the hotel building and I didn't notice two dogs sitting with their owner right outside the door. We walked through and the other dogs started attacking Buster. I tried walking by really fast but the other dogs were on top of Buster biting him. They pulled so hard to get Buster that they pulled their owner off of the bench that she was sitting on and she skinned her knee up. I have no idea what happened or why the other dogs were so aggressive but let me tell you, Buster and I were scared!! Buster did his business a little bit faster that day! And Buster seems to be fine, no injuries.

  • Josh is going to be gone most of next week for business, Lord help me!
