Sleep Study

Will had his sleep study done on the 16th. I can sum it all up for you in one word, nightmare! We got there at 7:30pm and the tech started to get him "wired up". That was just awful. There were wires coming out of everywhere. I tried to put him to sleep at around 9pm. The tech put a pulse-ox thingy on his finger (the thing that makes your finger glow red), Will thought it was a hoot. He sat in the crib for about 30 to 40 minutes looking at his finger glowing. He finally fell asleep at about 10:30pm (2 and a half hours past bedtime). He woke up there after, every hour on the hour. It was hard to console him because 1) the cribs are high and I am short so getting him off of the bed to hold him is always a struggle and 2) he had a hundred and fifty wires attached to him that were attached to a little machine in his bed. I would pick him up and we would both be tangled in wires.
(the next morning, you can just tell that he didn't sleep well.)
We were able to leave at 6:30 the next morning. I was in a "no sleep" fog and on the way home I got a speeding ticket (1 mile away from our house). Nice! So the sleep study cost me a night's sleep and 75 dollars.
We still haven't gotten the results of the sleep study, I will let you know when I find out.

Ok. True or false? It is ignorant to think that you can get good results on a young child on their quality of sleep with all that crap on their face?
Sorry, but I see a sleep study in our future and I am already irritated at the process.
He is adorable in his pj's:)

I feel your pain! Our sleep study was horrible too. Our doctor said he is fine with not doing another one since we have since such improvment since the Tonsillectomy. Yippee!
Aren't you glad it is over?

My usual comment is "not a lot of sleep happens at a sleep study."

Oh Myssie that just sounds terrible. And the photos of Will make me feel so miserable just looking at them - poor guy, and poor you. Hope the results will be worth it! Hugs

Oh, I just want to give him a hug! I didn't realize there were so many wires for a sleep study. It is hard sleeping away from home, let alone hooked up to a trillion wires! The second picture says it all!!!!
