Today William came to me and signed HELP. I asked him if he needed help with something and he walked into the kitchen, over to the table and signed help again, looking at his cup that he couldn't reach. I gave him his cup and he was a happy camper!!
This is the first time that he came to find me and ask for help! Usually he just stays where he is and cries for me until I come find him and then signs help. This time was different. I was amazed by my little signing man. I am so proud of him!

That's so great! Way to go Will and way to go Mommy for keeping it up.
We haven't gotten that far yet but am hopeful after reading your post that it will "click" for Nathan soon.
By the way... you inspired me to Blog so I've started, now you'll be able to keep up with what we've been up to as well.
Will you continue to amaze me!

Isn't it just the most amazing feeling? My proudest moments are when my kids get a little foundation in something and then in their own time, they make it work for them. I love it for me, but I love it for how they can see their own amazing powers in action. That flash of expression that says "hey! It worked. I am really amazing!"
This is a great beginning for your prince. I cannot wait to see he and Addie sign to each other in March! All the very best to you.
That is so excellent. He must be thrilled with his discovery and new skill!!!! Enjoy the communication moments :)
AWESOME! I am still trying to teach Max Will's sign for help.
Awesome job! That is a big step for him! We knew he had it in him, but he had to figure it out on his own.A mother's admirirg moment, takes your breath away for a second.
I'm with Kelly and Max on this one..we're still working on it as well...its very frustrating for us..any good tips? I'm so jealous!:) I'm so proud of Will though..by the way does cow have as flat of face as Logan's monkey does? Very cute!
Kerri-
yes, Cow face is pretty flat! It is starting to get a hole from him chewing on it so much! Yuck!
As far as the signing goes...repitition. If I see that Will needs some help, I always ask him first. Then hand over hand make him do the sign and then I help him. Then I usually say the sign again and make him do it again. Then I clap, cheer, hug and kiss (very motivating for William!). I hope that this helps you out!! Let me know!
